Here is a pretty good documentary that show that Mormonism's "Book of Abraham" has no credibility. It is a shame that so many people who seem to be pretty nice are tricked by this fake book.

Existence of God Debat : D'Souza vs, Singer
D'Souza does an admirable job.
I think D'Souza needs to link the Kalaam argument to the Big Bang. For anyone to say that the universe has always existed or even posing multi-universes begs the question.
The Klamaam argument in my simplified form would be : If time is change. Anything that changes could not always have existed.[more here]

Low Tech Missionaries
Here is the kind of thing that Catholic missionaries should be training in, besides theology. Low tech answers to common problems (click here for a previous post, a low tech idea on how to make bad soil good). It is a Catholic tradition to have technology at the service of man. The Jesuit missionaries were the discovers of a treatment for malaria; French monks helped farmers to improve farming techniques, and the Czech Abbot Gregor Mendel founded the new science of genetics, which was a big help to agriculture. Health Benefits of Xylitol-- substitute for sugar
Xylitol is a natural sweetener and sugar substitute that is extracted from plants such as fruits, berries, vegetables and oats. It originated in Finland where it was extracted from birch trees and is still widely used in Finland today.
Xylitol is not a chemical sweetener so is far healthier to use than a lot of other sugar alternatives.
It has a very sweet sugar taste and looks the same as white sugar, it can be used in recipes the same amount as sugar that the recipe calls for.
Here are 6 Facts about Xylitol
-----------------------------------------------
1. Xylitol is very sweet in taste but is absorbed more slowly making is a low glycemic food. Xylitol has a glycemic index of 7 whereas sugar has a massive glycemic index of 100. This means that xylitol is metabolised slowly and does not cause a glucose levels to rise rapidly (unlike sugar). Therefore xylitol can help in the prevention of diabetes.
2. Researchers in Finland found that xylitol can actually help prevent weakening of the bones and improve bone density. It has potential in treating Osteoporosis.
